Book description

What remains when the search for extraordinary spiritual experiences begins to lose its urgency?

There is a stage in the inner journey when awakening is no longer something to chase, interpret, or repeatedly experience. The attention begins to turn toward something quieter: what has actually changed, what still remains, and what lies beyond the experience of Kundalini itself.

Kundalini Science: The Inner Journey — Expanded Edition is the fifth volume of the six-book Kundalini Science series and marks this transition.

Rather than presenting Kundalini as a phenomenon to be explained from the outside, Premyogi Vajra approaches it through lived experience, meditation, observation, and the gradual transformation of consciousness. His writings grew alongside different stages of practice, allowing the series to follow not only the emergence of Kundalini, but also the changes that continue after awakening has become familiar.

In this volume, the emphasis shifts.

Kundalini, Prana, chakras, Sushumna, meditation, and Samadhi remain part of the inquiry, but they are increasingly viewed in relation to awareness, identification, detachment, emotional conditioning, and ordinary life. The question is no longer simply what Kundalini can awaken, but what awakening does to the person who experiences it.

The book explores Savikalpa Samadhi, Keval Kumbhak, breathlessness, Tantra–Kriya, Sankhya, Purusha and Prakriti, non-duality, and Sharirvigyan Darshan, connecting these ideas with direct contemplative experience rather than treating them only as philosophical or scriptural concepts.

A particularly important thread is the changing relationship between Kundalini and awareness. Experiences that once appear extraordinary can gradually become less important. Fear and desire may lose some of their grip. Emotional reactions can soften. The fascination with energetic phenomena can give way to a deeper interest in stillness itself.

The Expanded Author’s Edition retains the original Book 5 while adding material written from a later stage of the author’s inquiry. These additional chapters extend the exploration into questions that naturally arise after Kundalini awakening: Why is awakening not necessarily the end? What happens when the need to seek extraordinary states begins to disappear? How can compassion emerge without deliberate effort? What does it mean to experience Purusha and Prakriti rather than merely understand them intellectually? And what remains when thought, breath, and even the sense of being an observer become increasingly quiet?

Sharirvigyan Darshan occupies a distinctive place in this exploration. It becomes an embodied way of examining detachment, egoless functioning, emotional release, and the movement from conditioned reactions toward greater awareness.

The discussion of Sankhya and non-duality also takes on a different character. Rather than presenting them simply as competing philosophical systems, the book explores how discrimination between Purusha and Prakriti can develop into a deeper inquiry into awareness itself—and into everything that appears within it.

This makes Book 5 less a book about achieving Kundalini awakening and more a book about living through its later consequences.

The extraordinary gradually becomes ordinary.

The search gradually becomes quieter.

And the question changes from “What is happening to me?” to “What remains when there is less and less need to hold on to experience?”

Kundalini Science: The Inner Journey — Expanded Edition stands at that threshold.

The journey has not ended. But its direction is changing.

Book 5 is where Kundalini begins to give way to silence. Book 6 follows that silence beyond Kundalini.
